Dit was nou dol & vol verrassings. Ons was so besig dat ons nie eens kans gekry het vir foto’s nie. Mandy & Kobus het al hier by Oktober vir my laat weet dat ons by 200 stop – wel die laaste 50 het toe op die ou stoep gesit. Alles het baie goed afgeloop en ek hoop almal het genoeg geëet.
A special request came from Duglas for a few skaapkoppies. He wanted to check if the city slickers are really going to chow this delicatessen. What started as one order quickly grew to 5 heads – yes don’t forget brother Kobus will not sit out on this one.
Jy kon die kwyl uit die man se mond sien loop toe ons hom vertel van Duglas se idee. Met die verskriklike hitte het ons die koringsaal vir hulle bietjie koel gemaak en hulle laat aansit. Niemand het kop uitgetrek nie en almal het heerlik gesmul.
Duglas just could not get himself to pick up the Smiley for a picture so he grabbed the potato instead.
Met die dat ons jaar so vinnig aan sy einde gekom het, moes ons die slagdag in die vakansie maak. Neitjie & Lize was weereens in die voortou – hulle kom help opsaag! Dinge het baie goed gegaan totdat een van die skapies se aartjies so bietjie bloed geskiet het – arme ou Lize het dadelik gesê-vra “Dis seker net water nè?!”
Aan die einde was die grillerigheid verby en het die tweetjies met “warpaint” gesiggies gemodelleer vir die kamera. Lize het tot ‘n stukkie sening geneem vir aandenking – ek en Neitjie het haar darem eers lekker verneuk deur ‘n storie te spin oor waar daai stukkie sening vas was ………..
This is a definite must do again! The crowd really enjoyed the imitation of Rod Stewart. Personally I don’t know a lot about music and who sings what. What I do know is that this guy can make music and he definitely added to the vibe in the camp.
Not even the wind could keep the people away. Our cocktails ran out extremely quickly with all the spectators coming to watch but we had enough other alcohol to keep the crowds going.
All I can remember was that a good time was had by all. We’ve got lots of before pics. Even little models posing with all the decor balloons. Then the lights went out.
Yes – believe it or not – Eskom let us down. Although some people in the camp had this funny thought that we switched off the electricity for only reasons they could come up with. YES if you are reading this – your stories did reach us – another tick behind your name.
