Dad's Sherry table

Wat ‘n regtige oudtydse naweek het ons nie gehad nie.  Omtrent die hele oord was die hele tyd op die stoep en almal het saam gekuier.  Dis nou behalwe die klomp wat dit oordoen het Vrydag aand en toe nie weer opgedaag het Saterdag nie.

Voordat ek enigsins verder gaan laat ek eers ‘n klein spelfoutjie regstel.  In die Vadersdag spyskaart het ek “Tribe” in plaas van “Tripe” geskryf en Harriet was verskriklik ontsteld daaroor.  Wees gerus almal – ek het nie ‘n pot vol klein mensies gebedien nie maar wel skaap voete.  Ek het die foutjie darem al reg gestel.

Around around in circles

They are on my case all the time for news – the latest one was – “You still know what a Blog is, don’t you?”

I’m sure that I am not the only one suffering at work with all these holidays.  Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy having you guys here during the week it’s just that the days that’s left got so little hours in it that I don’t seem to catch up with the back log.    But enough moaning & groaning it’s Friday and I will see a whole lot of you today.  The weekend is packed and the Koringsaal is ready for action.

Easter was as usual fun & games from the beginning till the end.  We opened with Happy Hour on Thursday evening and Swarries was so packed that we moved ……..

Pragtige Ski-water

Haai almal,

Ek sit hier in die kantoor met die lugverkoeler se windjie wat koel waai deur die vertrek.  Die rokie van die sigaret wat so voor my verby smeul laat my wonder wat Danie Yskas nou weer gaan skel as hy hier inkom.  Dis mos die rook wat die lugverkoeler opneuk.

Ek dink aan gisteraand, die ou seun wat toe nog 11:45 inkom vir ‘n laaste enkel brandewyn en coke.  Hy’s so ordentlik en so opgewonde oor ons plek dat ek toe maar ‘n eksepsie maak en hom bedien.  My dagskof het toe al begin die oggend 5 uur met hoender mayonaise vir die skole atletiek en 325 slush puppies later sit ek nou met die opgewonde mannetjie.  Ek word wakker…….

Welcome, welcome back to myself on our brand new web!

Just had to do that, as I realised that we’ve been gathering information, opening restaurants, starting studs, learning of blogs, had winter in summer, changing menu’s, fighting mother nature and lots of other stuff.  All of that and more in the last two months since I wrote a newsletter.
