Fighting Mother Nature!

Hyasinth
After lots of warnings from worried guests and numerous attempts to contact Water Affairs we got down to basics.
Most of you must have noticed the water hyacinth that is slowly but surely trying to take over our beautiful skiing water. It’s all lovely & green & green & green.

Spraying
And please if you are worried that the chemicals is harmful to you or your kids or maybe the nature – this is supplied straight from DWAF and approved by their green department. It was developed to only kill the green monsters and nothing else. Like I always tell the city slickers – we live off this water and we are all “spek vet & gesond”!
As usual the big question – how did it get here? You’re guess is as good as mine – at present we think it could be from a boat that was used on a river invested by hyacinth and a seed got somehow stuck to it. You mos know how seeds are – appear at the most inconvenient places at the most unexpected times!
Safe ski-ing through the hyacinth this summer and remember – these monster are not afraid of you and can do more harm to you than to your boat.
Cheers
Caren
